How might a revamped and equitable intranet improve employee engagement and morale?

I managed this project, and worked with a designer to conduct research and create prototypes. I also created our final requirements document, which is one of the pieces of work I am most proud of.

process
While we conducted some initial surveying of existing intranet users, the bulk of our research involved meeting employees face-to-face. We talked to people in 15 departments and visited 5 garages. We then had separate user testing sessions with our intranet prototype.

learning
The original problem I was given: How can we modernize the T's intranet? This was woefully inadequate and didn't speak to the needs of all employees. Through this project I learned to always dig deeper into a business problem you've been handed... the issue is never that obvious, or simple! I also learned how to align all project stakeholders around a problem by telling them stories of people we are serving.
